Tuesday, April 20, 2021 6:00 PM Virtual <br />This meeting was held using conferencing software due to COVID-19 rules. <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular Meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021. <br />The meeting was held online. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Melissa Derrick, Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield <br />Baker, Council Member Saul Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, <br />Council Member Alyssa Garza and Council Member Mark Gleason <br />111. Invocation <br />Rev. J.D. Elshoff with First Baptist Church, San Marcos provided this <br />evening's invocation. <br />IV. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Mayor Hughson led the assembly in the Pledges of Allegiance. <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Ellie Stewart, asked to re -read her comments from the April 6th meeting, as <br />there were technical issues during her time. She spoke in support of the Lion's <br />Club and has witnessed firsthand the difference they make in the City with <br />their financial support that helps so many in need. When the building at City <br />Park had a devastating fire, the San Marcos Lions Club made a huge <br />contribution toward rebuilding it. They continue to contribute to our city and <br />schools in other ways. The San Marcos Lion's Club Tube Rental has been <br />extremely successful. Every penny of the profit they take in, after expenses, is <br />used to make San Marcos a better place to live. Ms. Stewart encourages the <br />City Council to allow the San Marcos Lions Club to continue serving the <br />people of San Marcos. <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, spoke on item #22 and expressed concerns that small <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
