Hopkins - Election Canvass & Swearing In <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the special meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 6:03 p.m. Monday, November 15, <br />2021. This meeting was held in-person and online. <br />11. Roll Call <br />Present: 7- Mayor Pro Tem Melissa Derrick, Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield <br />Baker, Council Member Saul Gonzales, Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tern Alyssa Garza and Council Member Mark Gleason <br />Consider approval of Ordinance 2021-90R, canvassing returns and declaring results of <br />the General Election, held on November 2, 2021, for the purpose of electing City Council <br />Member, Place Five and City Council Member, Place Six, and to submit proposed <br />amendments to the City Charter to the voters; declaring an emergency creating the need <br />to adopt this Ordinance with only one reading; and providing an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Baker, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Scott, to approve Ordinance 2021-90, on one reading. The motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member <br />Gonzales, Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Garza and Council <br />Member Gleason <br />Against: 0 <br />Mayor Hughson thanked Mayor Pro Tern Derrick for her dedication and <br />service to the Citizens of San Marcos during her time in office. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Derrick expressed her appreciation to City Council and Staff <br />for their work during her time in office. <br />2. Issue Certificate of Election to City Council Member, Place 5 and City Council Member <br />Place 6; and administer Oath of Office. <br />Mayor Hughson issued the Certificate of Election to Council Member Mark <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
