Hopkins <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called in order by Mayor Hughson at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022. <br />This meeting was held in-person and online. <br />11. Roll Call <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield Baker, Council Member Saul <br />Gonzales, Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Alyssa Garza, <br />Council Member Jude Prather and Council Member Mark Gleason <br />III. Invocation <br />Pastor A. D. Dillard, with First Baptist Church NBC provided the invocation <br />this evening. <br />IV. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Mayor Hughson led the assembly in the Pledges of Allegiance. <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Sharri Levine Boyett, supports item for the creation of a Council Committee <br />for Animal Services. She would like to see the committee as a bridge for all <br />services that represent both young pets and the animal shelter that would keep <br />pets and people together rather than surrendering or stray. Policies to reduce <br />the numbers of animals entering the shelter by helping the community learn <br />ways and educate them on resources available and expand the resources. Ms. <br />Boyett provided a possible mission statement for the council committee for <br />animal services. <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, expressed concern with the Neighborhood Services <br />public in-person meeting on short term rentals occurring at the library when <br />most council is not in the chamber.
