Carroll <br /> <br />Also Present: Olga Garza, Mrs. Scrutchin, Anna Farr, Paul Homburg, <br />Rudy Ruiz, Jim Gandy, Lupe Carbajahl, Bud Walker, John Wade, Bill <br />Pryatel, Nina Pryatel, Ofelia Vasquez, Mary Hood, Frank Gordon, Judge <br />Burnett, Ralph Gonzales, John Ferguson, Dr. and Mrs. Tom Castoldi and <br />others. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Brown called the meeting to order at 12:00 noon. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown introduced for consideration approval of the primary and se- <br />condary site locations for the Convention Center and stated the Council <br />had established at an earlier meeting the Hood property as a primary <br />location and the Hays County Civic Center as a secondary location. <br />Ronnie Dannelley stated no more letters of intent had been received <br />since the last Council meeting when it was announced there were three <br />letters of intent totalling $13.2 million. Mary Hood addressed the <br />Council and stated she would not be submitting a letter of intent. <br />Frank Gordon addressed the Council and stated he would submit a letter <br />of intent for $4.5 million for office-professional and multi-family <br />development. John Wade stated Camp Gary would provide labor to repair <br />the civic center road from the IH35 entrance. Judge Burnett and Ralph <br />Gonzales both stated they were willing to work with the City and do <br />whatever was best for the comm. unity concerning needed repairs or re- <br />modeling of the existing Hays County Civic Center. A resolution adopt- <br />ed by the Commissioners was presented to the Council with the intent <br />to deed 25 acres of land to the City for a convention center, a copy <br />of which is attached to these minutes. Mrs. Mendez moved the primary <br />site location be changed to the property offered by the County to the <br />City adjacent to the Hays County Civic Center and Mr. Kreczmer seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved the staff continue to explore the possibility of a <br />secondary site location and Mrs. Mendez seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. Mr. Kreczmer stated he wanted the staff to <br />continue to seek letters of intent. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown introduced for consideration the fire protection agreement <br />with the County. Judge Burnett stated he would like the Council to <br />wait until the Mayor returned to town before terminating service to <br />the County. Mrs. Norris moved we extend the present fire protection <br />agreement to November 1, 1982 and Mr. Kreczmer seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m. on motion made by Mrs. Mendez and <br />seconded by Mrs. Norris. <br /> <br />Jarl W.
