RESOLUTION NO.2024-216R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND HAYS COUNTY FOR THE CITY'S PROVISION OF LIBRARY ,f SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OF HAYS COUNTY, WITH THE CITY TO RECEIVE $85,000.00 FROM THE COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HER DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. Hays County (the "County") has offered to provide the City of San Marcos with an amount not to exceed $85,000.00 for FY 2024 public library services in return for the City's provision of the services listed under the terms and conditions of the attached contract between the County and the City(the"Contract"). 2. The Contract allows residents of the County who reside outside of the City limits to utilize the services of the San Marcos Public Library on the same basis as residents of the City. 3. The City Council wishes to approve the Contract in order to secure funding from the County for the City's provision of public library services to County residents. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The attached Contract with Hays County for the City's provision of public library services to County residents who reside outside the City limits with the County paying an amount to the City not to exceed$85,000.00 is approved. PART 2. This Contract is entered into pursuant to the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code. PART 3. The City Manager or her designee is authorized to execute the Contract on behalf of the City. PART 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage.
