RESOLUTION NO. 2025-116R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS REJECTING THE ONLY BID RECEIVED IN <br /> RESPONSE TO INVITATION FOR BIDS (IFB) NO. 2025-089 FOR THE <br /> GATEWAY MONUMENT SIGNS ALONG IH-35 CONSTRUCTION <br /> PROJECT, RECEIVED FROM G CREEK CONSTRUCTION IN THE <br /> ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $943,710.58; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. On April 10, 2025, the City of San Marcos received one bid in response to an <br /> Invitation for Bids (IFB No. 2025-089) for Gateway Monument Signs along IH 35 construction <br /> project. <br /> 2. After this bid was received, it was determined that several bid items have <br /> significantly increased in prices due to time of bidding and tariffs on metals. <br /> 3. Staff will prepare a revised scope and develop the required specifications. A new <br /> solicitation will be issued after tariff negotiations stabilize in approximately six months. City <br /> Council now finds it would be in the best interest of the City to reject this bid. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The only bid received in response to IFB No. 2025-089 for the Gateway <br /> Monument Signs along IH35 construction project, received from G Creek Construction in the <br /> estimated amount of$943,710.58, is rejected. <br /> PART 2.
