RESOLUTION NO.2025-213R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS ADOPTING AND SUPPORTING THE HAYS COUNTY <br />SAFETY ACTION PLAN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR <br />HER DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS TO <br />ADOPT AND SUPPORT THE PLAN ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />1. The City Council recognizes that traffic fatalities and serious injuries are <br />preventable and that no loss of life on our roadways is acceptable. <br />2. The U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) <br />program supports local initiatives aimed at eliminating roadway fatalities and serious injuries <br />through a Safe System Approach. <br />3. The City of San Marcos, along with Hays County, participated in the development <br />of the Hays County Safety Action Plan that identified high -risk areas, analyzed crash data, engaged <br />stakeholders, and outlined strategies to enhance transportation safety. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council approves support for the Hays County Safety Action Plan <br />and intends to implement projects, strategies, and policies from the plan, incorporating them into <br />the next update of the City of San Marcos Transportation Plan. <br />PART 2. The City Manager, or her designee, is authorized to execute appropriate <br />documents to implement the Hays County Safety Action Plan on behalf of the City. <br />PART 3.
