RESOLUTION 2008 -71 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT <br />APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR FY 2009/2010 CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS ("CIP") GRANT FUNDING FOR THE <br />COMPLETION OF A FENCING PROJECT AT THE SAN MARCOS <br />MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF <br />LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS CONTINGENT UPON THE CITY <br />COUNCIL'S APPROVAL OF THE APPROPRIATION OF THOSE <br />MATCHING DOLLARS IN THE FY 2009 AND 2010 BUDGETS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY' S <br />BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS <br />APPLICATION AND ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH <br />TXDOT AND OTHER PARTIES AS NECESSARY FOR THE <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN <br />MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City of San Marcos (the "city") intends to make certain improvements to the <br />San Marcos Municipal Airport, the general description of the project includes approximately <br />11,700 linear feet of six foot fencing to enhance security as well as associated additional security <br />gates, signage, and vegetation removal (the "Project"). <br />2. The City intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of <br />Transportation ("TxDOT") for these improvements. <br />3. The total Project costs are estimated to be $600,000.00, and the City will be <br />responsible for 10% of the total Project costs currently estimated to be $60,000.00. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City hereby requests FY2009/2010 CIP Grant Funding from TXDOT <br />for improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately 10% of the total Project costs <br />from FY 2009/2010 Airport Budgets is approved contingent upon the City Council's approval of <br />the appropriation of those matching dollars. <br />PART 3.
