<br />117 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1987-47R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO <br />AMEND A LITTER ENFORCEHENT AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />STATE OF TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos and the State Department <br />of Highways and Public Transportation entered into an <br />agreement on March 31, 1986, the purpose of said agreement <br />being to reduce littering along state highway rights-of-way~ <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Paragraph 3 of said agreement limits the <br />maximum amount payable under said agreement to $12, 500 .OO~ <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Texas State Department of Highways and <br />Public Transportation has extended funding for said Litter <br />Enforcement Program for one (1) year from the date the <br />amendment to the agreement is executed by both parties~ and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of said City finds and <br />determines that the adoption of the following resolution is <br />in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and <br />safety; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That a Litter Enforcement Program <br />entered into between the City of San Marcos and <br />Department of Highways and Public Transportation on <br />1986 be extended for one (1) year from the date the <br />to the agreement is executed by both parties. <br /> <br />Agreement <br />the State <br />March 31, <br />amendment <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager is authorized to sign <br />the said amendment to the agreement on behalf of the City and <br />execute it. <br /> <br />PART 3.
