117 RESOLUTION 1987-47R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO AMEND A LITTER ENFORCEHENT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos and the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation entered into an agreement on March 31, 1986, the purpose of said agreement being to reduce littering along state highway rights-of-way~ and WHEREAS, Paragraph 3 of said agreement limits the maximum amount payable under said agreement to $12, 500 .OO~ and WHEREAS, the Texas State Department of Highways and Public Transportation has extended funding for said Litter Enforcement Program for one (1) year from the date the amendment to the agreement is executed by both parties~ and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City finds and determines that the adoption of the following resolution is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That a Litter Enforcement Program entered into between the City of San Marcos and Department of Highways and Public Transportation on 1986 be extended for one (1) year from the date the to the agreement is executed by both parties. Agreement the State March 31, amendment PART 2. That the City Manager is authorized to sign the said amendment to the agreement on behalf of the City and execute it. PART 3.
