136 RESOLUTION 1987- l42R A RR~OLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE REAPPOINTMENT OF BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND AUTHORITIES OF SAID CITY TO PROVIDE AN EXCEPTION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, wishes to amend that resolution adopted on the 14th day of September, 1987, which dealt with the reappointment of members of boards, commissions and authorities of said City in order to provide an exception for certain appointments to boards, commissions or authorities on which the City is entitled to one position only; and, WHEREAS, the City Council believes that this exception will provide the City of San Marcos with more effective representation on such single appointment boards, commissions and authorities; now, there fore, BE TEXAS: IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, PART 1. That that Resolution adopted by the City Council on the 14th day of September, 1987 pertaining to the reappointments of members of boards, commissions and authorities is hereby amended as follows: "Part 2. That the City Council of said city shall not appoint a person to a term of office on a board, commission or authority of said City if the person being considered for said appointment has served for two consecutive terms of office on the board, commission or authority immediately prior to the term for which appointment is being considered, except that any appointment to a board, commission or authority in which the City is entitled to one position only, is exempt from the requirements of this resolution."
