I I I 108 iMINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TEXAS, AUGUST 22, 1977. Present: Frank T. Arredondo Mayor Council Members Ted Breihan Robert L. Cavazos John Hansen Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton Albert Sierra Doriss Hambrick Charles E. Evans Earl T. Williams Acting City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director of Finance Absent: Council Member Emmie Craddock Also present: Leon Barba, James E. Byrn, Tirso Torres, Rick Fisher, Richard Santellana, Howard Herrin, George Vandervort, Jack N. Stovall, George Gilbert, Terry Roberts, John Cunningham, Shirley Wickersham, James Varnell, James McCord, John Dennison, Don Butler, Jeff Franks, Frances Emery, Bill Veidt, Gary Bond, Alan King, Jerri Martin, Bill Nicola, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held August 15th were approved on motion of Mr. Cavazos and second of Mr. Breihan with Mr. James abstaining from the vote. Mr. Sutton moved to approve the reappointment of Mr. Carroll Burton and the appointment of Mr. Tirso Torres to full terms on the Housing Authority Board. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,TEXAS AMENDING SECTION ll-24(b) OF CHAPTER 11 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES, WHICH PRESCRIBES THE CHARGE FOR REGISTERING HEALTH CERTIFICATES, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE ON APRIL 10, 1962, BY DELETING SAID SECTION AND BY SUBSTITUTING IN ITS PLACE IN SAID CODE A NEW SECTION 11-24(b) SO AS TO INCREASE THE CHARGE FOR THE REGISTRATION OF HEALTH CERTIFICATES FROM ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) TO TWO DOLLARS ($2.00); AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hansen moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Cavazos moved to approve a request for the renewal of a temporary permit to locate a mobile home on Lot 22 of the Feltner Addition, 148 Sherwood Street, requested by Mr. Sipriano Guzman. It was noted that the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended approval of the request and that no objections had been received. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Hansen moved to approve a request by Mr. Dale Lowe for a new permit to temporarily locate a mobile home in J.M. Veramendi S~rvey Number 1, Redwood Road. No objections were received to the request; the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval. Mr. James seconded the mo::ion which passed unanimously.
