<br />15: <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS HELD <br />OCTOBER 17, 1977. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Frank T. Arredondo <br /> <br />Council Members <br /> <br />Ted Breihan <br />Robert L. Cavazos <br />Emmie Craddock <br />John Hansen <br />Berry R. James <br />Kenneth E. Sutton <br /> <br />City Manager <br />City Secretary <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />C.J. Webster <br />Doriss Hambrick <br />Charles Evans. <br /> <br />Also present: Gordon Thompson; Gilbert Tenorio; Joe Kohut; Dottie Sims; <br />Gene Gardner; Howard Herrin; Shirley Wickersham; Alan King; <br />Melissa Millecam; Frances Emery; David Morrison; Terry <br />Roberts; Gary Bond; and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held October 10, 1977 were approvE>d <br />on motion of Mr. Cavazos and second of Mr. Hansen. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an ordinance in its entirety having the following caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS APPROVING AND ADOPTING AMENDMENT NUMBER FIVE TO THE <br />URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR NDP. PROJECT TEX A-6 DIRECTING THAT <br />SAID CHANGE BE FILED AS A PART OF THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN <br />FOR SAID PROJECT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan move the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. J~nes <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER i97.4-48 APPROVED ON <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1974 AND OF RECORD IN VOLUME 44 PAGE 47 OF <br />THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO EXCLUDE A CERTAIN TRACT <br />FROM THE SITE SET ASIDE TO THE. TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC. <br />FOR A MUSEUM AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. James moved that <br />agenda item 4-A be reconsidered. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. The Mayor opened the Public Hearing to receive <br />comments on the proposed change in the Urban Renewal Land Use Plan. <br />Mr. Gordon Thompson, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, <br />presented the request for the Land Use Plan Change on behalf of the <br />Chamber. No objections were received to the proposal. The Mayor <br />closed the Public Hearing. Mr. Hansen moved to ratify the vote taken <br />earlier to approve the Ordinance amending the Urban Renewal Land Use Plan <br />on first reading. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion to ratify the earlier <br />vote which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TERAS, APPROVING A LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS AND THE SAN MARCOS AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, INC. <br />WHEREBY A SPECIFIED TRACT OF CITY PROPERTY IS TO RENTED TO <br />THE CHAMBER FOR A PERIOD OF FIFTY YEARS WITH ALL IMPROVEMENTS <br />
