Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced item number 21A, consideration of comments on <br />a proposed Section 8 housing project. The City Manager reported to <br />the Council that the proposed housing project was presently being <br />reviewed by the Governmental Applications Review Committee of the <br />Capital Area Planning Council and that the Committee had requested <br />comments from the City of San Marcos to be presented no later than <br />December 16th. Mr. Gonzalez told the council that prior to this <br />communication from CA~CO, the staff had intended to schedule consider- <br />ation of the program on the December 17th meeting in order to meet <br />a deadline imposed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. <br />Council Member Breihan advised the Council that he had a personal <br />interest in the project and that he and other members of the Council <br />had requested consideration be placed on the agenda as an emergency <br />in order to insure that City comments could be forwarded to CAPCO <br />in time for that agency to complete its review. Mr. Breihan's letter <br />is attached and made a part of these Minutes. Mr. Breihan then took <br />a seat in the audience for the remainder of the discussion. <br />Mr. Gonzalez informed the Council that the staff had made a preliminary <br />evaluation of the proposed site. That evaluation, dated December 10, <br />1979, was distributed to the City Council. Mr. James moved to table <br />further consideration of the program until a special meeting on <br />Thursday, December 13 at 5:00 p.m. so that staff could spend more <br />time in researching the project. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion. <br />On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Hansen, James, Sutton, Tenorio, Hyatt <br />NAY: None <br />PRESENT & NOT VOTING: Breihan <br /> <br />*Mr. Cavazos arrived at 8:09 p.m. <br />
