Louis Evans; <br />Jerri Martin; Paul Alexander; and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held December 8 were approved on motion of <br />Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Arredondo, with Mr. Sutton abstaining due to his <br />absence from that meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo moved approval of the renewal of a temporary permit for a mobile <br />home located on Lot 2, Block 2 of the McKie Addition, 805 Gravel Street, and <br />owned by Manuel Vargas. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved to reappoint, Mrs. Helen Allen, Mrs, Patty Sullivan, Mrs. Peggy <br />Byas, Mr. Gene Funk and Dr. James Crawford to the Parks and Recreation Board. <br />Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a re~uest that the membership of the Senior <br />Citizens Advisory Board be increased from seven to nine members. Mr. Flores stated <br />his opposition to increasing the membership, saying that a larger board has more <br />difficulty in operating. Mrs. Frances Emery, Chairman of the Board, came before <br />the Conncil to state that the Board had never met with full membership since its <br />organization, and that she felt it would be easier to have a ~uorum present at <br />meetings if the membership were increased. Mr. Flores moved to limit the member- <br />ship of the board to seven members. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion. The Mayor <br />moved to amend the motion to provide for automatic resignation of a member upon <br />absence of three consecutive meetings. Council discussed the desirability of <br />formulating guidelines for the Board. Warren Leddick, ex-officio member of the <br />Board, suggested the present Advisory Board present suggestions to the Council for <br />the drafting of by-laws. Mayor Craddock withdrew her motion, stating the subject <br />should be included in the by-laws. On roll call, the motion to retain the present <br />membership of seven individuals passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that four nominations had been submitted to fill two vacancies <br />on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board: A.A. Grusendorff, Thomas Yoakum, Charley <br />Williams, and Jimmy Brown.
