I I 99 RESOLUTION NO. 1978-32-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROV- ING THE PRELIMINARY WORK PLAN PREPARED FOR THE UPPER SAN MARCOS WATERSHED RECLAMATION AND FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT; REQUESTING THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE TO FURNISH THE WATERSHED RECLAMATION AND FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT WITH LAND RIGHTS WORK MAPS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, an application has been made to the Secretary of Agriculture by the Upper San Marcos Watershed Reciamation and Flood Control District for assistance in preparing a plan for works of improvement for the Upper San Marcos River Watershed; and, WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos is a local sponsor of the Upper San Marcos Watershed Reclamation and Flood Control District; and, WHEREAS, the preliminary work plan has been developed and con- tains a program of improvements including the construction of five (5) flood water retarding structures, water resource improvement, and public water based recreation facilities; no~v, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: Part 1. That the preliminary work plan prepared for the Upper San Marcos Watershed Reclamation and Flood Control District which was presented at a public meeting held March 6, 1978 in San Marcos, Texas, be, and is hereby, in all things approved. Part 2. That the Soil Conservation Service is requested to furnish the Upper San Marcos Watershed Reclamation and Flood Control District with land rights work maps so that the District may proceed with land rights acquisition. Part 3. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas, or his successor, be, and is hereby, authorized to sign a letter request- ing the above described maps from the Soil Conservation Service. Part 4. That this Resolution shall be in effect immediately from and after its passage.
