<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />Of SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT SECITON
<br />OF CHAPTER 29 Of THE CODE Of ORDINANCES, EN-
<br />TITLED "TRAFFIC", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY ORDI-
<br />NANCE 1975-14, ON MARCH 24, 1975, LOCATED IN
<br />VOL. 44, PAGE 185 OF THE MINUTES Of THE CITY
<br />COUNCIL, BY CHANGING THE SECTION NUMBER OF
<br />THE SECTION ENTITLED "DECREASED SPEED LIMITS",
<br />OF SAID CHPATER 29, fROM SECTION 29-130, AS
<br />ADOPTED, TO SECTION 29-131, AS CODIfIED; COR-
<br />RECTING THE DESIGNATION OF SPEED ZONES ON PETER
<br />GARZA STREET AND CANDLELIGHT LANE; ESTABLISH-
<br />ING NEW DECREASED SPEED ZONES FOR THE STREETS
<br />AROUND BONHAM KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL; AND PROVID-
<br />ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. '

<br />WHEREAS, Ordinance 1975-14, codified as Chapter 29 bf the Code of
<br />Ordinances, contained a proposed Section 29-130, entitled "DecrE,ased
<br />Speed Limits", which ultimately became codified as Section 29-131;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires that a correction be made to re-
<br />flect that section listing decreased speed limits zones as Section
<br />29-131, as now codified; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Ordinances 1975-14, as adopted and codified, incorrectly
<br />designated boundaries for the decreased speed limits zones on Peter
<br />Garza Street and Candlelight Lane; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City desires to amend said ordinance to correctly des-
<br />cribe the boundaries of the decreased speed zones on said City
<br />Streets; and,

<br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to designate decreased speed limits zones
<br />for the streets around Bonham Kindergarten School; now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
<br />
<br />~ection 1. That Ordinance 1975-14, which adopted Section 29-130 of
<br />Chapter 29 of the .C'ity Code, said section being entitled "Decreased
<br />Speed Limits", be, and is hereby, amended to provide that said sec-
<br />tion be codified as Section 29-131.
<br />
<br />Section 2. That Ordinance 1975-14, which adopted decreased speed
<br />limits zones in the area of Owen Goodnight Junior High School on
<br />Peter Garza Street and Candlelight Lane be, and is hereby amended,
<br />by deleting those zones and by substituting in their place the
<br />following decreased speed limits zones:

<br />Owen Goodnight Junior High School:
<br />
<br />Peter Garza Street from Del Sol Drive 3/10 mile west; 20 mph.
<br />
<br />Del Sol Drive from IH 35 Frontage Road to Parkdale Dr; 20 mph.

<br />Section 3. That Section 29-131, entitled "Decreased Speed Limits",
<br />of Chapter 29 of the City Code, adopted by Ordinance 1975-14, be,
<br />and is hereby, amended to include the following decreased speec zones
<br />in accordance with the provisions of said section:

<br />Bonham Kindergarten School:
<br />
<br />Lyndon B. Johnson Drive from Love Street to Cheatham Street; 20 mph.
<br />
<br />Guadalupe Street from Love Street to Grove Street; 20 mph.
<br />
<br />Grove Street from Guadalupe Street to McGehee Street; 20 mph.
<br />
<br />McGehee Street from Love Street to Cheatham Street; 20 mph,
<br />
<br />Lee Street from Guadalupe Street to McGehee Street; 20 mph.
