87 ORDINANCE NO. 1975 - 34 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION OF AIR CONDITIONING WORK PERFORMED IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. I WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos acting by and through the Building Inspection Department of the City is required to inspect the installation of air conditioning units and equipment in order to promote the general health, safety, and welfare of the communi- ty; and, WHEREAS, those who perform air conditioning work in said City are required to maintain a level of competence consistent with the "Uniform Mechanical Code, 1974", now and as hereafter amended, and to insure that competence, the necessity to collect fees to defray the cost of inspection becomes apparent; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the fees for installation of any and all air I conditioning wiring, apparatus, and other air conditioning work, repairs, operations and renewals, shall be paid by the person applying for the permit to the City Air Conditioning Inspector at the time application is made for inspection. No permit shall be issued by said Air Conditioning Inspector for less than a minimum fee of Two Dollars ($2.00). SECTION 2. The fee for a Master Air Conditioning License shall be Fifty Dollars ($50.00) and the renewal license shall be Twenty- Five Dollars ($25.00). The fee for administering the test for Air Conditioning License shall be Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) and shall be non-refundable. All air conditioning installers shall have a Journeyman License. The fee for a Journeyman License shall be Ten Dollars ($10.00). Renewal fee shall be Five Dollars ($5.00) per II year. An Apprentice License shall be Two Dollars ($2.00).
