90 ORDINANCE NO. 1975 - 37 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF THE STREET KNOWN AS "JEFF DAVIS BOULEVARD," "COLORADO STREET," AND "LOOP 82" (OLD U. S. HIGHWAY 31) TO "UNIVERSITY DRIVE" AND ORDERING THE CITY SECRETARY AND CITY ENGINEER TO ENTER SAID CHANGE IN AND UPON OFFICIAL RECORDS AND MAPS. I WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, is of the opinion that that certain street known as "Jeff Davis Boulevard," "Colorado Street," and "Loop 82" (Old U.S. Highway 31) should be changed in name to "University Drive" in support of the presence of Southwest Texas State University located in San Marcos; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That that certain street bearing the names of "Jeff Davis Boulevard," "Colorado Street," and "Loop 82" (Old U.S. Highway 31) be, and is hereby, changed so that that street beginning at the Entrance of Aquarena Springs (Loop 82) and travel- ing in a southwesterly direction along Loop 82 until its intersec- tion with Guadalupe Street, shall hereafter be known as and named "University Drive." SECTION 2: That the City Secretary and City Engineer be, and is hereby, ordered to enter the said change in name in and upon all official records and maps. I SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days from and after its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading July 14, 1975. PASSED AND APPROVED on second reading July 28, 1975.
