<br />160 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1974 - 29 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REPEALING <br />SECTION 17-5 OF CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />SAID CITY WICH ESTABLISHED MIN1MUM FINES IN THE MUNICIPAL <br />COURT OF SAID CITY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND PROVIDING <br />THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY <br />UPON ITS PASSAGE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, presently intends <br />to pass and approve by resolution a new minimum fine schedule; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Section 11-5 of Chapter 17 of the Code of Ordinances <br />of the City of San Marcos, Texas, which established a minimum fine <br />schedule for fines assessed in Municipal Court of said City, be, and is <br />hereby, in all things repealed so as to render said schedule of no further <br />force and effect. <br /> <br />Section 2. That urgent necessity requires that this ordinance be passed <br />as an emergency measure for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />property, health, welfare, and safety of said City and its inhabitants; ,1 <br />therefore, the provisions of the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />which ordinarily requires ordinances to be read shall become effective until <br />the expiration of ten (10) days following the dates of its final passage be <br />dispensed with.
