RESOLUTION 2010 -10IR A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN • MARCOS, TEXAS FINDING A 1995 FORD F800 ARMORED VEHICLE UTILIZED BY THE CITY'S POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE SURPLUS AND OF NO VALUE TO THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO DONATE THIS VEHICLE TO THE BASTROP COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE; TRANSFERING TITLE OF THE VEHICLE TO THE BASTROP COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. In 2007, an armored car company donated a 1995 Ford F800 armored vehicle (the "vehicle ") to the San Marcos Police Department. This donation was conditioned upon the City returning the vehicle or donating it to another law enforcement entity when it was no longer useful to the City. 2. In 2009, the San Marcos Police Department applied for and received a grant to purchase a new armored vehicle for use by the City's SWAT team. The Police Department has received the new armored vehicle. 3. The City has received a request for the donation of the vehicle to the Bastrop County Sheriff's Department. • 4. The City wishes to donate the vehicle and transfer the title of this vehicle to the Bastrop County Sheriffs Department, which will remove the vehicle from the City's fleet and resolve insurance coverage issues. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The City Council finds and determines that a 1995 Ford F800 armored vehicle, VIN# IFDXF8000SVA60240 which was donated to the City in 2007 is surplus and of no value to the City. PART 2. The Police Department is authorized to donate and transfer title of this vehicle to the Bastrop County Sheriff's Department. PART 3. The Acting City Manager is authorized to execute any necessary documents facilitating the transfer of this vehicle. PART 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. 1
