<br />43. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2004- <br /> <br />112 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING A LETTER AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />AND THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY FOR GRANT <br />FUNDING FOR THE ADVANCED LAW ENFORCEMENT RAPID <br />RESPONSE TRAINING PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City of San Marcos has been involved with Texas State University - San <br />Marcos and Hays County in implementing and operating a project known as the Advanced <br />Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (UALERRT") Project to train law enforcement <br />officers who are first responders to violent crime scenes. <br /> <br />2. The Lower Colorado River Authority (ULCRA") has offered the City a grant in the <br />amount of $50,000.00 forthe purpose offunding a portion of the metal building for the Live <br />Fire Training Shoot House at the ALERRT Center. <br /> <br />3. The City Council wishes to accept the grant award from LCRA. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The attached letter agreement between the City and LCRA for grant <br />funding related to the ALERRT Project is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the Agreement <br />on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
