On June 11, 2002, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San Marcos <br />held a public hearing regarding a request to change the zoning from ''''R-1'' Single-Family <br />Dwelling District (Low Density) to "TH-2" Townhouse Residential District (Medium Density) <br />for a 1.20 acre tract of property located at the intersection of Franklin Drive and Bishop Street. <br /> <br />2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />did, on June 11, 2002 consider and vote to approve the request, and has recommended that the <br />request be approved by the City Council of the City. <br /> <br />3. The City Council held a public hearing on the 23rd day of September <br />2002, regarding the request. <br /> <br />4. All requirements of Chapter 114, Zoning, of the San Marcos City Code pertaining to <br />zoning map amendments have been met. <br /> <br />5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the following <br />ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City, as described in Section 114.029 of <br />the San Marcos City Code, is amended to rezone the following real property which is presently <br />zoned "R-1" Single-Family Dwelling District (Low Density) to "TH-2" Townhouse Residential <br />District (Medium Density): <br /> <br />Street address: 1200 Block of Franklin Drive at its intersection with Bishop Street. <br /> <br />Size: 1.20 acres. <br /> <br />Legal description: See the metes and bounds description attached as Exhibit A. <br />
