<br />195. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2001- 76 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND AL TERNA TE JUDGES TO <br />SERVE IN A SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION BY THE CITY TO BE HELD ON <br />JUNE 2, 2001; CHARGING THE JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS <br />ELECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH <br />PRECINCT; APPOINTING AN EARL Y VOTING BALLOT BOARD; <br />APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COlJNTING <br />STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COCNTING <br />STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; APPROVING <br />THE APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL <br />COUNTING STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE <br />APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN <br />ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE EARLY VOTING <br />CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY EARL Y VOTING CLERKS, AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. On May 8, 2001, the City Council adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a <br />special runoff election by the City on June 2, 200 I, establishing the rate of compensation to be paid <br />judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, <br />making provision for the conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes <br />thereof, and declaring an emergency. <br /> <br />2. Section 4 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall, by <br />resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in the election at the polling <br />places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 3 thereof, and that ordinance further ordains <br />that it shall be eachjudge's duty to hold the election in the precincts and that any vacancies occurring <br />after the appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent resolution( s) of the City Council. <br /> <br />3. Section 11 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall, by <br />resolution duly adopted, appoint the Early Voting Ballot Board, a Presiding Judge of the Central <br />Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor ofthe Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting <br />Station Manager. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
