<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />152. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-175 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COlJNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING THE CITY'S <br />CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR COMPLETION OF THE <br />SAN MARCOS TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECIT ALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council has previously identified the San Marcos Traffic Improvements Project <br />(the "Project") to the Texas Department of Transportation ("TXDOT") as being among th~ highest <br />priorities for implementation for transportation improvement projects in the City. <br /> <br />2. The City has made a substantial commitment to TXDOT with respect to the Project, as <br />follows: <br />. Funding for half of the cost of design, construction, and synchronization (up to $1.5 <br />million for City' s share) <br />. Commitment to assume maintenance ofthe traffic signal system upon completion of <br />the Project <br /> <br />3. The City Council wishes to express to TXDOT the continlLed strong support ofthe City for <br />the Project, and to request that TXDOT complete the design construction of the Project as soon as <br />possible. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City Council expresses to TXDOT the continued strong support of the City for <br />the Project. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Council requests that TXDOT complete the design and construction of <br />the Project as soon as possible. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Clerk, Janis Womack, is directed to send a copy of this resolution to the <br />following TXDOT official: <br /> <br />Robert B.
