<br />30 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1982-52R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DIRECTING CHARLES WILLIS TO <br />PREPARE AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO FEDERAL <br />AVIATION ADMINISTRATION FOR AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS <br />AND RETAINING CHARLES WILLIS TO PREPARE CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS FOR APPROVED PROJECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH <br />FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION CRITERIA; AUTHORIZING <br />CITY MANAGER OF SAID CITY TO SUBMIT THE APPLICATION <br />TO FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration is in the <br />process of determining aviation projects for Fiscal Year 1983 <br />funding; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this funding will be made available to eligible <br />cities on a matching basis of 90% federal share and 10% local <br />share; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos' Airport Master Plan, which <br />was adopted August 10th, 1981, by the City Council of the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, provided for a capital improvements program; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following projects ~ere included in the City's <br />Airport Master Plan Capital Improvements Program: <br /> <br />Construction of new parallel taxiway <br />Relocation of Airport access road <br />Overlay runways and taxiways <br />Replacement of shattered slabs and overlay portion <br />of terminal <br />Installation of visual approach slope indicators <br />on Runways 12-30 and 17-35 <br />Installation of new apron lighting, taxiway lighting <br />and construction of new auto parking lot; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it would be desirous to have these Capital Improve~ <br />ments financed with federal assistance; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Charles Willis, airport consultant for the City of <br />San Marcos, has the capability to prepare the Federal Aviation <br />Administration application for federal grant assistance and to <br />provide professional engineering services required for designing <br />plans and specifications; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That Charles Willis be directed to prepare and <br />submit an application to the Federal Aviation Administration for <br />federal assistance on the following projects: <br /> <br />Construction of new parallel taxiway <br />Relocation of Airport access road <br />Overlay runways and taxiways <br />Replacement of shattered slabs <br />and overlay portion of terminal <br />Installation of visual approach <br />slope indicators on Runway 12-30 <br />and 17-35 <br />Installation of new apron lighting, <br />taxiway lighting and construction <br />of new auto parking lot <br /> <br />$ 279,000 <br />160,000 <br />1,500,000 <br />500,000 <br /> <br />64,000 <br /> <br />160,000 <br /> <br />PART 2. That Charles Willis be retained to complete <br />contract documents for those projects which are funded by Federal <br />Aviation Administration and paid with professional fees in accor- <br />dance with Federal Aviation Administration criteria. <br />
