<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />48. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2006 ----':;7 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR <br />FY 200612007 CAPIT AL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ("CIP") GRANT <br />FUNDING; APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL <br />MATCHING FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT <br />ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS <br />APPLICATION AND ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH <br />TXDOT AND OTHER PARTIES AS NECESSARY FOR THE <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN MARCOS <br />MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City of San Marcos (the "City") intends to make certain improvements to the <br />San Marcos Municipal Airport, the general description of which is a new FAA operated visual <br />flight rule ("VFL") air traffic control tower. <br /> <br />2. The City is intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of <br />Transportation ("TxDOT") for these improvements. <br /> <br />3. The total project costs are estimated to be $1,666,667.00, and the City understands <br />that it will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated to be <br />$166,667.00. <br /> <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> <br />PART 1. The City hereby requests funding for FY2006/2007 CIP Grant Funding <br />from TXDOT for improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately 10% of the total project costs for <br />FY 2006 is approved, and the City's expenditure of 10% of the remaining project costs for FY <br />2007 is approved subject to the City Council's approval of the appropriation of those matching <br />dollars in the City's 200612007 FY budget. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute on behalf of the <br />City, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of the City Council all <br />contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by TxDOT, and such other parties <br />as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to the San <br />Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />PART 4. <br /> <br />The City Council names the Texas Department of Transportation as its <br />
