Stokes <br /> <br />Also Present: Joe Garza, Terry Lighthouse, Lanny Griffith, Jeff <br />Watkins, Craig Farmer, lvilliam Liddle, John Kreczmer, Jake Krauskopf, <br />Sharyl Werner, Frances Emery, Joe Cox, Shirley Wickersham, Jane Wilson, <br />Sylvia Newsom, Dr. Williard Stouffer, Jeanette Ramsey, Betty Wolverton, <br />Ken Moss, and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration d~scussion of the Interim <br />Zoning Ordinance. In Section 1, Mr. Lighthouse wanted to see more <br />specific density controls. In Section 2-E, it was suggested that <br />the word "petition" be changed to "statement". In Section 3, the <br />Mayor asked if nonconforming uses could be identified on the zoning <br />map. Craig Farmer, representative from Freese & Nichols, Inc., said <br />that a separate map would be best. The Mayor asked that this informa- <br />tion be included in the Master Plan Program. In Section 4, there was <br />a concern about the parking requirements for convalescent and retire- <br />ment homes. Joe Garza also mentioned parking requirements for churches. <br />A discussion followed concerning the definition of "family" and <br />"multi-family". The definition for garage apartment is to be changed <br />to "attached to or above". On the definition of porte cochere, "one <br />story" was deleted. In Section 5, Mr. Lighthouse wanted to see R-2 <br />after R-l. Craig Farmer stated that Planning & Zoning felt that TH <br />was nearer to R-l than R-2. In Section 9, the Mayor suggested that <br />TH should possibly be considered R-l and not a separate zone. Mrs. <br />Norris wanted to see the parking for multi-family increased to four <br />per apartment. On page 81, the City Manager stated that he would <br />like to see the parking requirements specified for permitted uses in <br />each district. On page 58, nursing homes was to be added. It was <br />requested to have a section pertaining to massage parlors, pornographic <br />shops, etc. Mr. Tarbutton stated that he felt "1" should be able to <br />have a restaurant which is able to serve alcoholic beverages. In <br />Section 21, Craig Farmer suggested considering either 5 or 10 acre tracts. <br />On Section 23, a question came up on the required setback for lots. <br />Mr. Farmer suggested varying the requirements depending on the width <br />of the lot. In Section 24, it was decided to change the parking requir- <br />ments for fraternity and sorority houses to 2 parking spaces per bed- <br />room or number of square feet, whichever is greater. The Mayor suggested <br />that condominium parking requirements should not be as many as multi- <br />family. In Section 25, the requirement for a buffer between parking lots <br />and residential areas was placed back in the Ordinance. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:40 p.m. on motion of Mrs. Norris and second <br />of Mr. James. <br /> <br />
