192. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2003 ~ 61 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS DECLARING THE MONTH OF APRIL, 2003 AS FAIR HOUSING <br />MONTH AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> 1. The Fair Housing Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination in <br />housing and declares it a national policy to provide, within constitutional limits, for fair <br />housing in the United States of America. <br /> <br /> 2. The City has adopted a Fair Housing Ordinance in support of the Fair <br />Housing Act of 1968. <br /> <br /> 3. The principle of fair housing is not only national policy, but is a fundamental <br />human concept and entitlement for all Americans. <br /> <br /> 4. The 34th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, during the month of April, <br />provides the opportunity for Americans to recognize that complete success in the goal of <br />equal housing opportunity can only be accomplished with the help and cooperation of all <br />Americans. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1. <br />of San Marcos. <br /> <br />The month of April 2003 is declared Fair Housing Month in the City <br /> <br /> PART 2.
