117 RESOLUTION 1998- 188 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN A SPECIAL ELECTION BY THE CITY TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 1998; CHARGING THE JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH RESPECTIVE PRECINCT; APPOINTING AN EARLY VOTING BALLOT BOARD; APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE EARLY VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY EARLY VOTING CLERKS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. On August 24, 1998 the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a special City election on November 3, 1998, establishing the rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency. 2. It is necessary for the City Council to appoint certain election officials for the special City election on November 3, 1998. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1.
