<br />124 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1998- 192 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AN <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND OTHER PUBLIC <br />WATER SUPPLY ENTITIES IN THE EDWARDS AQUIFER REGION FOR <br />THE COOPERATIVE PURCHASE OF EDWARDS AQUIFER GROUND <br />WATER RIGHTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br />THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. Several municipalities and other governmental water suppliers in the Edwards <br />Aquifer region have formed the Regional Water Resource Development Group (RWRDG) <br />to jointly lease aquifer permit rights and allocate them to group members. <br /> <br />2. The City wishes to participate in the RWRDG in order to make up a potential <br />shortfall in permitted rights to aquifer water pending the completion of the City's new <br />surface water treatment plant. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The terms and conditions of the Interlocal Agreement attached to this <br />Resolution between the City and other public water supply entities in the Edwards Aquifer <br />Region for the cooperative purchase of Edwards Aquifer groundwater rights are approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute this Agreement <br />on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
