<br />4S <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1997 -2.L..R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLlDÄ TED <br />INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE HOLDING OF A JOINT <br />ELECTION ON MAY 3,1997; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, finds and determines that <br />it is in the best interest of the City to cooperate with the San Marcos Consolidated <br />Independent School District (the "School District") in the holding of an election on May 3, <br />1997. <br /> <br />2. The School District is willing to participate in the holding of a joint general <br />election on that date. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The Joint Election Agreement attached to this Resolution between the <br />City of San Marcos and the School District for the holding of the election on May 3, 1997 <br />is approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager, Larry D. Gilley, is authorized to execute the <br />agreement on behalf of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />PART 3.
