<br /> 102 <br /> - <br /> RESOLUTION 1996- 108 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO THE FORTIS <br /> BENEFITS INSURANCE COMPANY FOR EMPLOYEE LIFE <br /> INSURANCE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br /> - CONTRACTS AND RELATED DOCUMENTS FOR THIS <br /> INSURANCE COVERAGE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br /> - - <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City has solicited bids for the purchase of employee life insurance in IFB <br /> 96-041. <br /> 2. The Fortis Benefits Insurance Company of Kansas City, Missouri (Fortis) has <br /> submitted the lowest responsible bid for this insurance coverage. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> . <br /> PART 1. Award of a contract to Fortis for employee health insurance for the <br /> period of August 1, 1996 to July 31, 1997, in an amount not to exceed $31,000, subject to <br /> renewal for 4 subsequent one-year periods, is approved. <br /> PART 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the attached contract <br /> with Fortis for employee life insurance coverage. <br /> PART 3.
