<br /> lOO <br /> RESOLUTION 1-994- 33 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TE.XAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING <br /> JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN A <br /> GENERAL ELECTION BY THE CITY, TO BE HELD ON <br /> MAY 7 ¡ 1994; ~HARGING THE JUDGES WITH THE DÚTY <br /> TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE <br /> POLLING PLACES FOR EACH RESPECTIVE PRECINCT; <br /> APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL <br /> COUNTING STATION¡ A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF <br /> THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION¡ AND A CENTRAL <br /> COUNTING STATION MANAGER; APPROVING THE <br /> APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE <br /> CENTRAL COUNTING STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; <br /> APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION <br /> SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS; APPROVING <br /> THE APPOINTMENT BY THE EARLY VOTING CLERK OF <br /> CERTAIN DEPUTY EARLY VOTING CLERKS¡ AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. On February 14¡ 1994 the City Council of the City of San <br /> Marcos¡ Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint <br /> general and special election by the City on May 7¡ 1994¡ establishing <br /> the rate of compensation to be paid judges¡ clerks¡ and assistants to <br /> the tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election¡ <br /> making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions <br /> incident to the purposes thereof¡ and declaring an emergency. <br /> 2. Section 4 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of <br /> the City shall by resolution duly adopted¡ appoint presiding and <br /> alternate judges to serve in the election at the polling places for <br /> the respective precincts set forth in Section 3 thereof¡ and that <br /> ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judgers duty to hold <br /> the election in the precincts and that any vacancies occurrlng after <br /> the appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent <br /> resolution(s) of the City Council. <br /> 3. Section 15 of that ordinance provides that the City Council <br /> of the City shall¡ by resolution duly adopted¡ appoint a Presiding <br /> Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the <br /> Central Counting Station¡ and a Central Counting Station Manager. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS¡ <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1.
