38 RESOLUTION 1.993- 47 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN THE JOINT GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE CITY, HAYS COUNTY AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE HELD ON MAY 1, 1993; CHARGING THE JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH RESPECTIVE PRECINCT; APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION OF CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE EARLY VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY EARLY VOTING CLERKS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on February 8, 1993, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a joint general and special election. by the City, Hays County and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District on May 1, 1993, establishing the rate of compensation to be paid judgesr clerksr and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency; and, WHEREAS, Section 4 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in the election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth ,in Section 3 thereof, and that ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judge's duty to hold the election in the precincts and that any v~canCles occurrlng after the appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, Section 19 of that ordinance provides that the City Council of the City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint a Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting Station Manager; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1.
