<br />133. <br /> <br />¡ <br />RESOLUTION 1993- 87 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING <br />JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN A <br />SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION BY THE CITY, TO BE <br />HELD ON MAY 22, 1993; CHARGING THE JUDGES WITH <br />THE DUTY TO HOLD THIS ELECTION IN THEIR <br />RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH RESPECTIVE <br />PRECINCT; APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE AND <br />ALTERNATE JUDGE OF THE EARLY VOTING BALLOT <br />BOARD; APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE <br />CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION <br />SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, <br />AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; <br />APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE PRESIDING <br />JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION OF <br />CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY <br />THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN <br />ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE <br />EARLY VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY EARLY <br />VOTING CLERKS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on May 3, 1993, the City Council of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a special <br />runoff election by the City on May 22, 1993, establishing the rate of <br />compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and as£istants to the <br />tabulation supervisor for services rendered during the election, making <br />provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions <br />incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 4 of that ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of the City shall by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding <br />and alternate judges to serve in the election at the polling places <br />for the respective precincts set forth in Section 3 thereof, and that <br />ordinance further ordains that it shall be each judge's duty to hold <br />the election in the precincts and that any vacancies occurr1ng after <br />the appointment of the judges may be filled by subsequent <br />resolutionCs) of the City Council; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 12 of that ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of the City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint a <br />Presiding Judge and Alternate Judge of the Early Voting Ballot Board, <br />Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation <br />Supervisor of the Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting <br />Station Manager; now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
