<br /> 46 <br /> RESOLUTION 1992- 64 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING REVISED SALARY <br /> SCHEDULES FOR CITY EMPLOYEES WHO ARE NOT <br /> SUBJECT TO STATE CIVIL SERVICE STATUTES; AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City last implemented a salary schedule for City <br /> employees who are not subject to State civil Service Statutes on <br /> October 1, 1986, as a result of the installation of a performance- <br /> based pay system; and, <br /> WHEREAS, many City employees are no longer eligible for merit <br /> pay increases because they are presently paid at the upper limit of <br /> the salary range for their job classification; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the adoption of revised salary schedules will restore <br /> merit pay increase eligibility for many City employees, and will <br /> enhance the City's ability to retain a qualified and effective <br /> workforce; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the revised salary schedules for City employees <br /> who are not subject to the State civil Service statutes, consisting <br /> of Position Classifications for System A (Exempt/Unclassified) and <br /> System B (Non-Exempt/Classified) Personne~ are hereby approved. <br /> PART 2.
