<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL
<br />ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING 11.98 ACRES
<br />OF LAND OUT OF THE J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO.1
<br />~N THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BEING THE
<br />PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN A DEED FROM THE GEN-LYTE
<br />GROUP, INC. TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS RECORDED
<br />IN VOLUME 879, PAGE 629, HAYS COUNTY REAL
<br />PROPERTY RECORDS AND BEING A PORTION OF LOT 1,
<br />WIDE-LITE UNIT 1, A SUBDIVISION OF RECORD IN
<br />VOLUME 5, PAGE 146, HAYS COUNTY PLAT RECORDS,
<br />LOCATED AT 2300 IH-35 SOUTH FROM "I"
<br />(INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) TO "P" (PUBLIC AND
<br />INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT) AND DECLARING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, on June 18, 1991, the Zoning commission of the City
<br />of San Marcos held a public hearing regarding a request to change
<br />the zoning from "I" (Industrial District) to "P" (Public and
<br />Institutional District) for 11.98 acres of land out of the J.M.
<br />Veramendi League No.1 in the City of San Marcos, Hays County,
<br />Texas; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the
<br />Zoning Commission did, on June 18, 1991 consider the request and
<br />voted to approve it and has recommended that the request be
<br />approved by the City Council of the City; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on the 26th
<br />day of August, 1991, regarding the request; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, all requirements of Appendix A, General Zoning
<br />Ordinance, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos
<br />pertaining to amendments have been met; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that the
<br />adoption of the following ordinance is in the interest of the
<br />public health, morals, welfare and safety; now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That the Official Zoning Map of the City, as
<br />described in section 3 of the General Zoning Ordinance is hereby
<br />amended to rezone the following described real property located at
<br />2300 South IH-35 in San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, which is
<br />presently zoned "I" (Industrial District) to "P" (Public and
<br />Institutional District):
