<br /> 71 <br /> RESOLUTION 1990- 96 R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, OPPOSING THE PROPOSED DEr.10LITION OF SAN <br /> MARC OS (CARROLL) HALL ON THE WEST CAMPUS OF SOUTHWEST <br /> TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos supports the preservation of the <br /> historical heritage of the City, Southwest Texas State University and <br /> Hays County; and, <br /> WHEREAS, San Marcos (Carroll) Hall on the West Campus of Southwest <br /> Texas State University has been proposed for demolition by the Board of <br /> Regents of the Texas State University System; and, <br /> WHEREAS, San Marcos (Carroll) Hall proudly bears a Texas <br /> Historical Medallion as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark structure; <br /> now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the City of San Marcos opposes the proposed <br /> demolition of San Marcos {Carroll} Hall on the West Campus of Southwest <br /> Texas State University. <br /> PART 2. That the City Secre tary, Janis K. Womack, is hereby <br /> directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Board of Regents <br /> of the Texas State University System and to the President of Southwest <br /> Texas State University. <br /> PART 3.
