<br /> 143 <br /> RESOLUTION 1989-80R <br /> A RE~OLnTTON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, SUPPORTING A STRONG NATIONAL DRUG <br /> CONTROL POLICY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, recognizes the serious <br />drug crisis facing our nation; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos desires a strong national drug <br />policy and is aware of the urgency and the need for said policy; and, <br />WHEREAS, on September 5, 1989, a new National Drug Policy wil1 be <br />announced; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. That the City Council of the City of San Marcos supports <br />a strong national drug policy. <br />PART 2. That the City Council urges the citizens of San Marcos, <br />Texas, to individual1y support a strong national drug policy by <br />contacting william J. Bennett, Director of National Drug Control <br />Policy; Executive Office of the President; Washington, D.C. <br />20500. <br />PART 3.
