<br /> <br />l20 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1988-l6 <br /> <br />A~ ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ELECTION ORDINANCE CALLING <br />FOR A SPECIAL AND A JOINT GENERAL ELECTION BY SAID CITY <br />AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL <br />DISTRICT TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ON <br />MAY 7,1988, WHICH WAS APPROVED ON EMERGENCY BY THE <br />CITY COUNCIL AT ITS REGULAR MEETING ON FEBRUARY 8, <br />1988, TO DELETE PROPOSITION 22, PERTAINING TO THE <br />REMO'~L OF THE PARKLAND RESTRICTION ON A 25 ACRE TRACT <br />OF CITY-OWNED LAND, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />BE <br /> <br />IT <br /> <br />ORDAINED <br /> <br />BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Proposition No. 22, relating to the removal of <br />the parkland restriction on the use of a 25 acre tract of city-owned <br />land, be, and it is, hereby deleted from that election ordinance <br />calling for a special and a joint general election by said City and the <br />San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District to be held in the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas on May 7,1988, which was adopted by the City <br />Council at its regular meeting on February 8, 1988, and which said <br />ordinance is attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the remaining propositions and sections of said <br />election ordinance shall be re-numbered in consecutive numerical <br />sequence. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That the importance of this Ordinance creates an <br />emergency and an imperative public necessity so that the provisions of <br />the Charter requiring that ordinances shall be presented at three <br />separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become effective until <br />the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage <br />be suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and this <br />Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and <br />after its adoption and after its publication in a newspaper of general <br />circulation within the City as providéd by the City Charter of the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED <br /> <br />thi~daY of <br /> <br /> <br />"""".. ~. <br /> <br /> <br />.
