0 ORDINANCE NO. 2009-49 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 8 OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2009-46 ORDERING A GENERAL <br />ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2009 FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, <br />PLACE 5, AND A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 6 BY <br />SETTING THE HOURS OF 7:00 A.M. TO 7:00 P.M. FOR <br />EARLY VOTING BY PERSONAL APPEARANCE ON <br />MONDAY OCTOBER l9, 2009 AND ON MONDAY OCTOBER <br />26, 2009 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 2009-46 is hereby amended to read as <br />follows ( added text is underlined) <br />"SECTION 8. The main early polling place for early voting by personal appearance for <br />the election is the Hays County Election Administrator's Office, 401-C Broadway. Early voting <br />• by personal appearance shall be conducted during normal working days Monday- Friday <br />(excluding holidays) in the Hays County Election Administrator's Office from October 19, 2009 <br />through October 30, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except for Monday, October 19, 2009 and <br />Monday, October 26, 2009 which shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on October 24, 2009 <br />(Saturday) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In addition, temporary branch and mobile early polling <br />places for early voting by personal appearance for the City election are established at the <br />following locations, with voting to be conducted at the dates and times indicated: <br />Location Date Time <br />San Marcos Library October 19-October 30, 2009 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />Large Meeting Room (Except weekends and holidays) <br />625 E. If any portion of this Ordinance is held invalid by a court of competent <br />jurisdiction, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. <br />C7
