43 b gI) ..t-- ORDINANCE 1987-3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ORDERING A JOINT GENERAL ELECTION BY SAID CITY AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF SAN ~~RCOS, TEXAS ON APRIL 4, 1987 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE THREE, AND A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE FOUR, AND SAID JOINT GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD WITHIN AND WITHOUT THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE FIVE, A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE SIX, AND A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE SEVEN, ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF COMPENSATION TO BE PAID JUDGES, CLERKS, AND ASSISTANTS TO THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR FOR SERVICES RENDERED DURING SAID ELECTION, MAKING PROVISIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION AND OTHER PROVISIONS INCIDENT TO THE PURPOSES OF THIS ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ßRCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That, in accordance with the provisions of Articles III, V, and XII of the Charter of the City of San Marcos and the laws of the State of Texas, so far as the same may be applicable, a joint general election by the City of San Marcos, Texas and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District shall be held, and the same is ordered and directed to be held, at the various polling places and election precincts within and without the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, as hereinafter designated, on the 4th day of April, 1987, from the hours of 7: 00 a.m. to 7: 00 p.m., at which joint election there shall be elected by the qualified voters of the City of San Marcos from the City at large, a City Council Member for Place Three and a City Council Member for Place Four, for terms of three years each. By the qualified voters of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District there shall be elected a School District Board of Trustees Member for Place Five, a School District Board of Trustees Member for Place Six, and a School District Board of Trustees Member for Place Seven for terms of three years each. SECTION 2. That the election precincts for said election shall be, in all respects, the same precincts as those Hays County Election Precincts which are within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos and all those Hays, Caldwell, and Guadalupe County Election Precincts which are wi thin the boundaries of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District. SECTION 3. That the polling places for each precinct for said election shall be as follows: Precinct # Polling Place Precinct 10 & 13 San Marcos High 14 School Auditorium 1/2 mi.
