<br /> <br />43 <br /> <br />b <br />gI) <br />..t-- <br /> <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1987-3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ORDERING A JOINT GENERAL <br />ELECTION BY SAID CITY AND THE SAN MARCOS <br />CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE <br />HELD IN THE CITY OF SAN ~~RCOS, TEXAS ON APRIL <br />4, 1987 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A CITY <br />COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE THREE, AND A CITY <br />COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE FOUR, AND SAID JOINT <br />GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD WITHIN AND WITHOUT <br />THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF ELECTING A SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF <br />TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE FIVE, A SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, PLACE SIX, AND A <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEMBER, <br />PLACE SEVEN, ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF <br />COMPENSATION TO BE PAID JUDGES, CLERKS, AND <br />ASSISTANTS TO THE TABULATION SUPERVISOR FOR <br />SERVICES RENDERED DURING SAID ELECTION, MAKING <br />PROVISIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION AND <br />OTHER PROVISIONS INCIDENT TO THE PURPOSES OF <br />THIS ORDINANCE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN ~ßRCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That, in accordance with the provisions of <br />Articles III, V, and XII of the Charter of the City of San Marcos <br />and the laws of the State of Texas, so far as the same may be <br />applicable, a joint general election by the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District <br />shall be held, and the same is ordered and directed to be held, at <br />the various polling places and election precincts within and <br />without the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, as <br />hereinafter designated, on the 4th day of April, 1987, from the <br />hours of 7: 00 a.m. to 7: 00 p.m., at which joint election there <br />shall be elected by the qualified voters of the City of San Marcos <br />from the City at large, a City Council Member for Place Three and <br />a City Council Member for Place Four, for terms of three years <br />each. By the qualified voters of the San Marcos Consolidated <br />Independent School District there shall be elected a School <br />District Board of Trustees Member for Place Five, a School <br />District Board of Trustees Member for Place Six, and a School <br />District Board of Trustees Member for Place Seven for terms of <br />three years each. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the election precincts for said election <br />shall be, in all respects, the same precincts as those Hays County <br />Election Precincts which are within the corporate limits of the <br />City of San Marcos and all those Hays, Caldwell, and Guadalupe <br />County Election Precincts which are wi thin the boundaries of the <br />San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That the polling places for each precinct for <br />said election shall be as follows: <br /> <br />Precinct # Polling Place Precinct <br />10 & 13 San Marcos High 14 <br /> School Auditorium <br /> 1/2 mi.
