j,¡Q ~ 47 ORDINANCE 1987-7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCE BY CLARIFYING SECTION 2(D)(2) AND BY ADDING SECTION 2(D)(3) TO PROVIDE FOR ZONING COMMISSION CONSIDERATION OF ALTERNATIVE ZONING DESIGNATIONS AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That Section 2(D)(2) of the General of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances is repealed. Zoning Ordinance SECTION 2: That new Zoning Ordinance of the read as follows: Sections 2(D)(2) and (3) of the General San Marcos Code of Ordinances are adopted to (2) A vote of 3/4 of all the members of the legislative body of the City of San Marcos is required to overrule any recommendation of the Zoning Commission regarding a proposed amendment, supplement or change. (3) The legislative body may vote only on a specific proposed amendment, supplement or change that has been recommended for approval or denial by the Zoning Commission. If the legislative body wants to consider a zoning designation other than that recommended by the Zoning Commission, it shall return the zoning case to the Zoning Commission with direction to make a recommendation on the alternate designation suggested by the legislative body. SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
