On January 14, 1997 , the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San <br /> Marcos held a public hearing regarding a request to change the zoning from "I" Industrial <br /> District to "lI" light Industrial District for five tracts of property located in the 1 00 and 200 <br /> Block of Thermon Drive, the 100 Block of Barnes Drive and the 2400 Block of IH-35 <br /> South. <br /> 2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the P!anning and Zoning <br /> Commission did, on January 14, 1997 consider and vote to approve the request, and has <br /> recommended that the request be approved by the City Council of the City. <br /> 3. The City Council held a public hearing on the 24 day of <br /> MARCH , 1997, regarding the request. <br /> <br /> 4. All requirements of Chapter 114, Zoning, of the San Marcos City Code pertaining <br /> to zoning map amendments have been met. <br /> 5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the following <br /> ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City, as described in Section 114.029 <br /> of the San Marcos City Code, is amended to rezone the following real property which is <br /> presently zoned "I" Industrial District to "lI" light Industrial District: <br /> Street address: The 1 00 and 200 Block of Thermon Drive, the 100 Block of <br /> Barnes Drive and the 2400 Block of IH-35 South <br /> Size: 7.203 acres. <br /> Legal description: Tracts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Thermon Industrial Park <br /> Subdivision. <br /> Deed or plat reference: Volume 1, page 121, Hays County Plat Records. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance commits a <br /> misdemeanor and is subject to the penalty provided in Section 1.015 of the San Marcos <br /> City Code upon conviction. <br /> SECTION 3. After its original passage, this ordinance will be subject to <br /> reconsideration at the next regular City Council meeting. If this ordinance is not <br /> reconsidered, or if it is reconsidered and approved, notice of its adoption will be published <br /> in a newspaper of general circulation in the City. This ordinance will take effect upon <br /> publication of this notice. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24dayof MARCH ,1997, <br />
