79 ORDINANCE 1986-6 AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE ADOPTED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JANUARY 27, 1986, ORDERING A SPECIAL AND JOINT GENERAL ELECTION BY REDUCING THE DESCRIPTIONS OF CERTAIN PROPOSITIONS, SUBSTITUTING THESE RE-WRITTEN PROPOSITIONS FOR ~ THE ORIGINALS, ORDERING THAT THE JANUARY 27, sa 1986, ORDINANCE BE CORRECTED TO REFLECT SAID Wb CHANGES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That certain designated original propositions in that Ordinance adopted and approved by the City Council on January 27, 1986 ordering a special and joint general election and proposing amendments to the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be amended and changed by the City Attorney to reflect the following wordings: Proposition No.1 FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 2.03(a) to provide for a public hearing in an area proposed to be annexed, as provided by State law. Proposition No.2 FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 3.06 to conform to State law regarding calling a special election. Proposition No.3 FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 3.11 to provide for the adoption of zoning district designation ordinances. Proposition No.4 FOR/AGAINST Add Section 3.17(a) to provide for the removal of Council members for unexcused absences. Proposition No.5 FOR/AGAINST Add a sub-section to Section 3.17 to provide for the removal of City Council appointees. Proposition No.6 FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 4.01 to provide for a yearly report by the Chief Municipal Court Judge. Proposition No.7 FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 4.03(b) to provide for annual appointments of Municipal Court judges. Proposition No.8 FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 4.03(b) to provide for the appointments and salaries of Municipal Court judges. Proposition No.9 FOR/AGAINST Amend Section 4.03(e) to provide for a replacement in the case of the absence of the Chief Judge of the Municipal Court.
