Brown <br /> Bill Coddington <br /> Gerald G. Farr <br /> Fred Guerra <br /> Betty Jane Kissler <br /> Jaime Moore <br /> City Manager A. C. Gonzalez <br /> City Secretary Janis K. Womack <br /> City Attorney Lamar W. Hankins <br /> Assistant City Manager Robert T. Herrera <br /> Also Present: Mark Hendricks, Susan Newey, David Williford and oth- <br /> ers. <br /> Mayor Craddock called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> Mayor Craddock announced the Council would canvass the returns of <br /> the Regular Election held April 6/ 1985. Mayor Craddock announced <br /> that Candidate David Williford requested the District Court for a <br /> recount of the election returns for Council Member, Place 5, so the <br /> Council canvassed the returns for Council Member, Place 6 only. <br /> Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br /> on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RE- <br /> SULTS OF THE REGULAR ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> ELECTING A COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE FIVE AND A COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER, PLACE SIX ON APRIL 6, 1985; AND, DECLARING <br /> AN EMERGENCY. <br /> Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br /> Brown seconded the motion. Mr. Coddington moved to amend the Ordin- <br /> ance to delete the canvassing of the returns and declaring results <br /> of the returns for Council Member, Place 5 and Ms. Kissler seconded <br /> the motion, which passed unanimously. The tabulation sheet attached <br /> to the Ordinance regarding Council Member, Place 6 was read into the <br /> record. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordin- <br /> ance on emergency. <br /> Mayor Craddock deleted Items 5, 6 and 8 of the Agenda as a Runoff <br /> Election was not needed and the election of the Mayor Pro-Tempore <br /> will not be considered until Council Member, Place 5 has been seated. <br /> Mayor Craddock issued the Certificate of Election to Council Member, <br /> Place 6, Gerald Farr and City Secretary Womack administered Mr. Farr's <br /> Oath of Office. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m. on motion made by Mr.Guerra and se- <br /> conded by Mr. Brown. ~ <br /> æ <br /> Emmie Craddock <br /> Mayor <br />
