Hopkins - Budget Workshop <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the budget workshop meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called <br />to order by Mayor Daniel Guerrero at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the City Council <br />Chambers, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem John Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern <br />Wayne Becak, Council Member Ryan Thomason, Council Member Shane Scott, <br />Council Member Jude Prather and Council Member Lisa Prewitt <br />1. Receive a Staff presentation and hold discussion regarding the preliminary Fiscal <br />Year 2014 -2015 Budget, and provide direction to Staff. <br />Steve Parker, Assistant City Manager /CFO and Heather Hurlbert, Director of Finance provided <br />the Council with the presentation of the proposed FY2014 -2015 Budget. Following discussion <br />the Council provided the following direction and consensus: <br />Creation of an Eco- tourism line item, but the allocation will remain blank at this time. $40,000 <br />dog -eared for the time being from CVB brining it CVB total to $164,865. <br />Interest in getting more details for the FTE position requested by Matthew Lewis <br />Budget Amendment of $25,000 for this fiscal year for all 3 museums be placed on the 8/5 agenda <br />with additional information from each requester. An additional $10,000 for Arts Commission was <br />also approved bringing the total to $210,000. <br />Additional requests for fiscal year 2015 were all approved. <br />Additional discussion on Drought Ordinance will be placed on a future agenda <br />Future discussion and update of potential bond projects <br />Add a placeholder for Underpass lighting into the budget. Council also requested additional <br />details be brought back along with a timeframe of what this would look like over time. <br />III. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. <br />None. <br />IV. Adjournment. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Scott, seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, to <br />adjourn the budget workshop of the San Marcos City Council at 9:25 p.m. The motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, <br />Council Member Thomason, Council Member Scott, Council Member Prather and <br />Council Member Prewitt <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
