1 I , "I 120 ORDINANCE NO. 1980- 15 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ADOPTING THE AMENDED BUDGET FOR THE 1979-1980 FISCAL YEAR BEGIN~- NINGON OCTOBER 1, 1979 AND ENDING ON SEPTEM- BER 30, 1980, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, after public hearing held on August 13, 1979, adopted, by Ordinance 1979- on September 10, 1979 the budget for the fiscal year beginning on October 1, 1979, and ending on September 30, 1980; and, WHEREAS, in accordance with section 8.16 of the Charter of the City of San Marcos, the council desires to amend said budget; and, WHEREAS, said City Council finds a public necessity in the need to make certain personnel changes and to provide for expendi- tures which have become necessary subsequent to the adoption of said budget; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. SECTION 1. That the amended budget for the City of San Marcos, Texas, for the fiscal year 1979-1980, beginning October 1, 1979, and ending September 30, 1980, as set forth in Exhibit A which is attached hereto and for all intents and purposes in- corporated herein, in words and figures as shown therein, be, and is hereby, approved and adopted. SECTION 2. That all monies anticipated for collection under this ordinance shall be indicated as revenue and expenditures by the City Manager in the preparation of the annual budget; and the Director of Finance shall keep accurate and complete records of all monies collected under this ordinance and of the purposes for which the same are expended. ~ SECTION 3. That due to the pressing financial obligations of the City which must be discharged immediately an emergency is here- by declared, and provisions of the City Charter requiring that ordinances shall be read on three separate days and that no ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage is hereby dispensed with, this Ordinance ~o be in effect immediately upon its passage by this body.
