Call To Order With a quorum present, the Pre - Budget workshop meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called to order by Mayor Guerrero at 5:39 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666, II. Roll Call Mayor Pro Tern Prather was absent. Present: 6 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Council Member John Thomaides, Council Member Ryan Thomason, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Shane Scott, Council Member Lisa Prewitt and Council Member Jane Hughson Absent: 1 - Mayor Pro -Tem Jude Prather 1. Receive a Staff presentation and update regarding Fiscal Year 2013 -2014, current trends for Fiscal Year 2014 -2015, and discuss the preliminary budget for Fiscal Year 2015 -2016, and provide direction to Staff. Heather Hurlbert, Finance Director, led a discussion and provided a presentation to Council regarding Fiscal Year 2013 -2014, current trends for Fiscal Year 2014 -2015, preliminary budget for Fiscal Year 2015 -2016. The Council requested that Staff provided information regarding the downtown TIRZ, a total sidewalk investment summary and update, include a tax rate comparisons chart to see similar cities trends as well, and have the Citizens Utility Advisory Board look at the rate stabilization fund. III. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. None. IV. Adjournment. A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, seconded by Council Member Thomason, that the pre- budget workshop meeting of the San Marcos City Council be adjourned at 7:40 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 6- Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Council Member Prewitt and Council Member Hughson Against: 0 Absent: 1 - Mayor Pro -Tem Prather City of San Marcos Page 1
