Ron Patterson <br />Director of SMEU Bob Higgs <br />Director of Human Resources Carolyn Liner <br /> <br />Also Present: Scott Maier, Cory Longoria, Tony Wilson, Red Simon, <br />Phil Neighbors, Collette Duran, Collete Davis, Melissa Millecam, <br />Dianne Wassenich, Ted Miska, Kelly Franks, Cheryl'Pantermuehl, Steve <br />Sands, Kim Doherty, Kyev Tatum and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the ten-minute comment period with the City <br />Council (Mr. Hart present at this time - 7:35 p.m.). (1) Ted Miska <br />advised the Council of his experience with he and his wife's <br />automobiles being towed from the Nelson Center parking lot and being <br />overcharged by the wrecker service. He was required to pay $70.00 <br />for each vehicle and wants to see the City regulate what can be <br />charged. The city Attorney was directed to research and advise the <br />Council if they could regulate all wrecker charges. Mr. Taylor <br />thought San Antonio regulated wrecker charges. (2) Mayor Morris <br />stated Hays County has requested the city's participation on <br />November 18 and 19 and she wants at least one Council Member and <br />Staff Member to be involved. They are also seeking donations. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the Parks and Recreation <br />Advisory Board. Mr. Moore moved to appoint Rene Compean, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the Main street Advisory Board. <br />Mayor Morris moved to appoint Joe castillo, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Moore moved <br />to appoint Clementina Cantu and stated Mr. Guerra had requested he <br />place her name in nomination, as Mr. Guerra would be late to the <br />meeting. Ms. Cantu presently resides outside the city limits but is <br />in the process of moving into the City. Upon Council query Mr. <br />Taylor advised the appointment could be made, but she could not <br />actually serve as a Member until such time as she resides in the <br />- City limits and is an owner of city property (as the Ordinance <br />requires). The Council voted unanimously for approval of Ms. <br />Cantu's appointment. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1993-1994 <br /> <br />* Mr. Hart present at 7:35 p.m.; Mr. Guerra present at 8:11 p.m. <br />
